Job purpose:

We are looking for someone for a demanding but rewarding and evolving role at Voices in Exile as a resettlement caseworker. You will work alongside another dedicated resettlement caseworker with the support and supervision of our experienced resettlement manager, and will be part of and have access to the rest of our advice and casework team, both new and experienced.

You will be flexible and highly skilled, with an essential interest in and experience of working with vulnerable clients with complex needs and particularly with migrant and refugee clients. The post might suit someone from a social work background who is interested in broadening and deepening their practice within the migrant sector; or a generalist or immigration adviser who is interested in focussing on resettlement and integration support. We actively welcome applications from those with lived and relevant experience – please see the job description and person specification below and attached.

Regular supervision and support and in-house and on-the-job training will be provided, as well as external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge to begin to deliver advice and casework to an existing caseload with appropriate support.

You might be required to work out of hours where there are emergencies or if and when there are new arrivals in need of immediate support; and you would be expected to attend some home and outreach visits (both in and beyond the city) in line with our current risk assessments.

You will need to have permission to work in the UK.

Application deadline: Monday 18 March at 9am

Interviews will take place on Tuesday 26 March (in person or via Zoom tbc)
